After submission and registering your fingerprints your application will be transferred to the processing queue at the Finnish Immigration Service who will make the decision.

A residence permit applicant may receive an interview request if there are no other means of establishing sufficient grounds for granting a residence permit. The interview may be held only by an official of the Finnish Embassy or the Finnish Immigration Service.

The Finnish Immigration Service may offer you and the sponsor the opportunity to take part in DNA test if there are no other means of sufficiently establishing family ties based on biological relationship. AC staff will get in touch with you to schedule the DNA test.

The Embassy of Finland will hand over the decision to the AC. Holders of the Somali passport or an Asylum seeker certificate will not be given their residence permit cards until a later stage. They will be given detailed instructions on how to obtain a temporary travel document to Finland together with their decisions.
