After submission and registering your fingerprints your application will be transferred to the processing queue at the Finnish Immigration Service who will make the decision. When your application is submitted through Enter Finland, you have to continue using Enter Finland throughout the application process. Keep your e-mail address and password safe so you can log into the service throughout the process.
You can track the processing of your application through your personal user account. The information available in Enter Finland is the same you receive when calling the Finnish Immigration Service customer service.
You may receive requests for additional information and your decision via your user account. E-mail notifications will be sent whenever you have a request waiting for you in your online account. Respond to the Finnish Immigration Service’s request for further information. You are also responsible for notifying the Finnish Immigration Service of any changes to your contact details.
A residence permit applicant may receive an interview request if there are no other means of establishing sufficient grounds for granting a residence permit. The interview may be held only by an official of the Embassy or the Finnish Immigration Service. If you get an invitation to an interview via Enter Finland, please contact the Embassy to schedule an interview. The Embassy will confirm the time of the interview after they have received approval for the scheduled time from Finnish authorities.
The Finnish Immigration Service may offer the applicant and the sponsor the opportunity to take a DNA test if there are no other means of sufficiently establishing family ties based on biological relationship. Application Centre staff will get in touch with you to schedule the DNA test.
If you have submitted your application in Enter Finland, the decision will be available in Enter Finland. The Embassy of Finland will hand over the envelopes to the Application Centre.
